Rescued!

For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.
— Colossians 1:13‭-‬14 NLT

These verses embody the incredible transformation that occurs in the life of a believer. Through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, we are rescued from the clutches of spiritual darkness and brought into the realm of God's glorious Kingdom. With great love and compassion, the Son of God paid the price to set us free from the bondage of sin, releasing us from the guilt and shame that once weighed us down. The forgiveness we receive is an incredible act of mercy, wiping away our transgressions and granting us a fresh start.
In this new Kingdom, we are adopted as children of God, lavished with His grace and guided by His Spirit. What a privilege it is to be part of this wonderful exchange, where darkness is transformed into light and captivity into freedom.

Sometimes I find myself thinking of Lots' wife. She and her family were rescued from the darkest city of their time. Instead of her looking forward, she looked back longingly at Sodom and its equally corrupt neighbor, Gomorrah, and became a pillar of salt. Don't be like her! Stop dwelling in the past with rose-colored glasses on your life as a captive of sin. Seek a relationship with the Father who loved you enough to send His own dear Son to rescue you and make you part of His family. You were never rescued and abandoned to make your way alone in this place where giants still roam. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives within you. Stay in prayer, and let the Holy Spirit lead you and empower you to claim the land you walk on in Jesus' name.
