Think for Yourself
In the book of Proverbs, chapter 13, verse 20, we are reminded of a timeless truth: "Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble." This proverb serves as a valuable guide for navigating our relationships and interactions in life. It emphasizes the importance of surrounding ourselves with individuals who possess wisdom, insight, and godly character. When we choose to align ourselves with the wise, we open ourselves up to valuable teachings, guidance, and opportunities for personal growth. On the other side, associating those who lack discernment and make unwise choices, can lead us straight into trouble and disappointment. This proverb truly serves as a crucial reminder to carefully consider the company we keep, as it ultimately impacts our own wisdom and well-being.
Think for yourself! Don't let your fate be decided by others. Commit your walk to the Lord and choose companions who have chosen the same journey. I know you don't want to leave your old, unbelieving companions but you can't continue to walk with them on their worldly path. Draw them lovingly into your new circle. Some may stay. Some who don't may one day look to you as a lighthouse in the midst of their storm. Let the Holy Spirit teach you to love the sinner as Jesus loved you.
