What is Your Gift?

In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
— Romans 12:6-8 NLT

Romans 12:6-8 highlights the diverse spiritual gifts that believers receive from God. It emphasizes the importance of understanding our unique gifts and using them faithfully to serve others and bring glory to God. Whether it is prophesying, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leading, or showing kindness, each gift is significant and should be exercised with devotion and joy.

What is your gift? If you know what it is, don't neglect it and don't pine after another's gift. Perhaps you are looking around and thinking that you don't have a gift. First, I must ask if you have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit as our Lord commanded? Without His spiritual anointing, you are working with your own natural abilities as Apollos was doing in Acts 18:24, 25. If not the supernatural gifts like prophecy, we need our natural gifts spiritually enhanced. Sometimes, we don't recognize our gifts because they don't fit into obvious Church positions. You are uniquely and wonderfully made to fit into the body of Christ. Let me remind you that being part of the body involves more than what happens within a church building. Pray and Obey! Let the Holy Spirit help you discover and mature your gifts as you obediently carry out the assignments He gives you.
