One Bridge
“For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.”
In a world filled with diverse beliefs and countless paths, it is essential to find a firm foundation upon which our faith rests. Amidst this quest, the words penned by the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 2:5 serve as a guiding light, reminding us of the fundamental truth that echoes through eternity: "For there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus."
These words encapsulate the essence of our faith, unraveling the complexity and unveiling the simplicity of the Gospel message. No longer do we need to search for various intermediaries or rely on man-made rituals to approach the divine. In Jesus, we have direct access to our Heavenly Father. He is the sole Mediator, the bridge that spans the infinite chasm between us and God. In Him, we find hope and salvation.
How many of us were raised under the threat of a vengeful God who couldn't wait to swat you for the smallest offenses? While the hellfire and brimstone preachers were totally correct about God being Holy and us being sinners condemned to death and an eternity of torment away from His presence, they distorted an important point. You see, God so loved the world that He wasn't willing for anyone to perish. The Father sent His only Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins so that we could be reconciled to Him and be able to spend eternity with Him. No other religious practices or good works could ever bridge the gap between us and God. Jesus is the only bridge! And as promised by the Father, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit of God to empower and live within every believer to enable us to live Godly lives and to share this message of Good News. Don't try to live this life in your own strength. Let the Holy Spirit empower and guide you on this journey.
