Following your Navigator
As followers of Christ, we are called to live by the Spirit. In Galatians 5:25, we are reminded of the importance of letting the Holy Spirit lead and guide us in every aspect of our lives. It is not enough to merely profess faith; we must actively submit ourselves to the Spirit's leading. When we surrender to the Holy Spirit, we open ourselves to divine wisdom, guidance, and power. The Spirit's leading enables us to make decisions aligned with God's will, to show love and kindness towards others, and to bear the fruits of the Spirit. By following the Spirit's leading, we experience true freedom, joy, and transformation in our lives. Let us not merely rely on our own understanding, but instead trust in the Spirit's guidance and allow Him to direct our path.
I think a lot of our brothers and sisters are living their Christian lives as best as they know how while waiting for the Holy Spirit to take control of their floundering vessels. The Holy Spirit does not control us! We are not puppets or robots. We are the pilots of our vessels and, sadly, many of us have locked our Navigator in the map room to be consulted when all else fails. Would you be in the situation you currently are in if you had consulted the Lord about the smallest of decisions? Perhaps it is time to let the Holy Spirit co-pilot the whole journey instead of waiting until you've steered into a storm or run aground!
