The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
— Psalms 103:13 NLT

As the scriptures declare, "The Lord is like a father to his children" (Psalms 103:13 NLT). Our Divine Father is no ordinary parent. He is tender, gentle, and full of empathy. His arms are always open wide to welcome you in times of distress. No matter what kind of trouble you may face, the Lord is always there to offer comfort and guidance. His infinite tenderness provides us comfort, just as a loving father would cradle his child, wiping away every tear and easing every burden. His compassion extends to those who fear Him. Don't be mistaken; this fear is not one of terror, but of awe, reverence, and respect for the greatness of His being. He listens intently to the cries of His children and rushes to their aid, delivering blessings and working miracles. Our Divine Father rejoices in your joys and shares your sorrows, always leading you towards a path of righteousness and fulfillment.

We just added a two-month old puppy to our household this week. Let the potty training begin! The way we react to his many accidents is far different than how we respond to our adult dog. As much as we understand the limitations of our puppy, the Lord understands our weaknesses even more. He corrects us as needed, wanting only what's best for us. There are gators in our ponds so a leash is mandatory. My puppy hates being on the leash but will eventually recognize it as outside adventure time. I used a child leash on my youngest child when she was a toddler who thought it was fun to run off and hide. That leash is an expression of our love. Stop pulling at the constraints that our Father puts on us. He loves us! When He says "No" or "Not now" to prayer requests, know that He has His reasons and they are always in our best interests because He sees the bigger picture and knows what we can handle. Let the Holy Spirit keep you close to the Father and help you to learn of Him and to understand just how deep His love is for you.
